High School basketball and wrestling tournaments have begun as the calendar turns from February to March. There are several events to attend in South Jersey this weekend; Tournament time brings excitement and it builds each week.
March Madness begins for the NCAA basketball tournaments which start March 20th. I won't forget to get my brackets filled out because last year I won our 97.3 ESPN bracket, can I do it again?!?
The Philadelphia Phillies began their spring training games and it won’t be long before the Phillies return home to open up their 2025 campaign. Major League baseball is experimenting with the (ABS) automated ball-strike system this spring and could start using the system in the 2026 season. Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto went 2-2 so far on challenging pitches during a recent spring training game. If it doesn’t hold up the game and gets the right call, then I’m for using the system in regular-season games.
The Flyers are 2-1 since returning to work after the NHL held a very successful Four Nations tournament. The Flyers are six games away from a playoff spot but have five teams in front of them. They have a lot of ground to pick up if they want to make the playoffs.
The Sixers are….. well they have lost their last nine games and there is no hope for this team turning things around in time to make the playoffs. We will discuss it all this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim.

We have a packed show starting with our first guest, Pitman High School Basketball Head Coach Ron Myers. He will join us before his team faces Burlington City in the quarter-final round of the group I tournament. Next we will hear from Mr. Negadelphia P.J. On Sunday’s show, my Locker Room youth movement is back in studio: Producer Danny Ryan and "The Intern” Andrew Leeds will talk about the weekend in Philadelphia Sports. We will talk with the Head wrestling coach at Middle Twp Matt Wolf. Coach Wolf’s team won the Group 2 SJ championship and sent eight wrestlers to the Regionals and he will will join us at 10:30am. Next we will walk down memory lane with Lou Scheinfeld; Lou has a new book out called Blades, Bands and Ballers How he helped create Philadelphia’s Greatest Showplace,
